For a period of two months, New Twingo set out on a trail that visited major European cities for a series of exclusive photo shoots with the media. The tour provided a chance to evaluate how easily the small city car soaks up the obstacles of everyday motoring in built-up environments.
New Twingo recently spent two months being introduced to the media in a number of major European cities. The tour gave journalists a chance to see the new car in the flesh for the first time to a variety of urban backdrops.
New Twingo in its element in city centres
Thanks to its nimble handling and outstanding turning circle of just 4.30 metres (one of the best in its class), New Twingo revels in city motoring. From the driver’s seat, it seems to turn on a sixpence, while parking becomes almost fun.
The small city car has other arguments in its favour when it comes taking driving in built-up areas in its stride, including a high-up driving position and extremely good forward vision. Meanwhile, despite being 10cm shorter than the previous-generation Twingo, the new version’s cabin is an astonishing 22cm longer.
New Twingo’s interior packs plenty of surprises, as well, from its colourful, personalisable trim and 52 litres of additional stowage spaces, to a 219dm3 boot and clever smartphone connectivity via the R&GO multimedia system which features a free navigation facility. Those who wish to carry a Swedish flat-pack bookcase or an upright bass guitar will appreciate the fact that New Twingo’s carrying capacity can be arranged to accommodate items of more than 2.20 metres in length.
The Twingo spirit is back!
In 1993, the newly-released original Twingo was snapped by French photographer Dingo who had an eye for humorous scenes as he captured the small city car’s exceptional interior space and cheerful demeanour. Twingo 1 was the definitive ‘Voiture à Vivre’!
Two decades later, Dingo took advantage of New Twingo’s European tour to capture the new car in its element in the centre of several major cities.
