The Clio Renaultsport 220 Trophy EDC has made its public debut in Geneva.
The most significant changes compared to the regular Clio RS have occurred underneath the hood where the 4-cylinder, 1.6-liter turbo engine has gained an extra 20 HP & 20 Nm for a grand total of 220 HP (162 kW) and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) while the rev limit has increased from 6,500 rpm to 6,800 rpm. Moreover, there's a torque boost function available in fourth and fifth gears which offers a temporary peak torque of 280 Nm (207 lb-ft).

Perhaps even better news is the fact that Renault has made some updates to the EDC transmission which promises to provide up to 40 percent quicker gear shifts in Normal and Sport modes and as much as 50 percent faster shifts when in Race mode thanks to a software calibration.

The Clio Renaultsport 220 Trophy EDC comes with 18-inch Radical alloy wheels with black inserts and diamond-like facings which have been wrapped around in Michelin Pilot Super Sport 205/40R18 tires. It has gained a quicker steering rack which has reduced travel by 30 percent while the stop/start system will work in Normal mode but is going to be turned off in Sport and Race modes.

Compared to the regular Clio RS, this new Trophy version sits 20mm lower at the front and 10mm at the back and has gained updated springs which are 40 percent stiffer at the back. Also on the menu are firmer shock absorbers and several interior cabin tweaks like an embossed leather steering wheel, optional Renaultsport Monitor on-board telemetry system and a "Trophy" interior pack bringing heated leather sport seats, satin chrome air vent inserts and a carbon look for the air vent surrounds, gear lever and door handles.

Sales of the Clio Renaultsport 220 Trophy EDC will kick off this June in Europe.
