Volkswagen launches website for ‘Dieselgate' cars - VW diesel scandal

 VW diesel scandal
If you want to know if your VW-built car is one of those with a diesel engine with a ‘defeat device' and what the company plans to do about it, Volkswagen has launched a dedicated website to keep you informed.

The website - vwdieselinfo.com - offers a full frequently asked questions section to try and help put owners' minds at ease regarding their cars and of course, is very apologetic in tone.

The site is also where updates will be posted regarding the action the VW Group will be taking to remedy the problem.

On September 18 the US Environmental Protection Agency charged the Volkswagen Group with manipulating software on 500,000 diesel engine cars in the US in order to'cheat' on emissions tests. In the days that have followed VW has admitted to using a defeate device and installing the software in as many as 11 million vechiles worldwide.

The company's CEO Martin Winterkorn has already resigned over the crisis and further resignations as well as potential criminal charges are possible as the investigation, which is now international, continues.
