2015 HSV Senator SV special edition revealed

The team at Holden Special Vehicles has injected an extra dose of aggression into its luxurious Senator Signature to create the special edition 2015 HSV Senator SV.

Production of the stealthily styled HSV Senator SV begins this month, with 50 confirmed for Australian enthusiasts, priced from $83,990 before on-road costs (identical to the regular Senator Signature on which it’s based), and two headed to New Zealand.

The special edition Senator SV wears a set of new 20-inch ‘Rapier’ forged alloy wheels with a Dark Stainless finish, which are designed further expose the car’s sizeable brake discs and calipers.

Complementing the wheels is a range of ‘pitch black’ exterior styling accents, including the grille surround, side vents, mirror caps, boot lip spoiler, door surrounds and badges. Quad exhaust outlets with shadow chrome tips complete the bespoke exterior enhancements.

Four exterior colours are available: Heron, Phantom, Prussian Steel, and Nitrate.

The HSV Senator SV’s exclusivity is further emphasised by the addition of Senator SV sill plates, a unique identification plate and infotainment system start-up screen, and an individual vehicle number.

The SV package builds on the mechanical package and standard equipment of the Senator Signature, which is headlined by the 340kW/570Nm 6.2-litre V8 engine and includes AP Racing forged four-piston brake calipers, Magnetic Ride Control suspension, Driver Preference Dial, and sports leather seats.

The Senator SV is available with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission with paddleshifters, both for the same price.

HSV managing director Tim Jackson says he believes the brand’s first limited edition Senator since 2008 will be well received.

“As Senator Signature is already an exceptionally well equipped vehicle, we challenged our design team to come up with a differentiated styling package, one that accentuates the vehicle’s ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing’ positioning and further enhances its street presence,” Jackson said.

HSV design and styling chief Julian Quincey said the SV’s styling enhancements aim to enhance the Senator’s street presence and exclusivity.

“We were keen to take Senator Signature’s ‘luxury/performance’ positioning and deliver a darker, more brooding edge to its styling,” Qunicey said.
