2015 Opel Corsa 1.4-L turbo 100-hp: Torque Hero

Broad engine portfolio includes new gasoline 1.4 turbo as torque hero

In addition to both three-cylinder newcomers, the new Corsa's gasoline powertrain line-up also includes 1.2 and 1.4-liter four-cylinder units. New to the range is the 74 kW/100 hp 1.4-liter turbo, delivering 200 Nm maximum torque over a wide plateau from 1,850 to 3,500 rpm.

It is strong pulling power that establishes this engine that is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, as the torque hero of the new Corsa powertrain portfolio. The entry-level Corsa engine is a 1.2-liter, naturally-aspirated unit with 51 kW/70 hp. It is followed by a 66 kW/90 hp, 1.4-liter gasoline engine which can be mated to three different transmissions - manual, full automatic or the automated Easytronic 3.0.
