First Ferrari 458 Speciale A Fetches $900K

Ferrari will only make 499 versions of the 458 Speciale A, meaning that less than 500 lucky buyers will be able to get their hands on one. Well apparently someone wanted one really badly — because the first one just sold for $900,000, or about three times the MSRP.
The auction took place in Beverly Hills and was part of the Ferrari 60th Anniversary special, which also included the introduction of the F60America.

Whoever sunk nearly $1 million into the 596-horsepower exotic will be able to feel good about his or her purchase. All proceeds were donated to Daybreak, a charity that works on research towards cures for rare genetic diseases.

So the buyer gets a car capable of a 0-60 run of less than 2.9 seconds, a top speed of 199 miles per hour, and donates nearly a million buck to charity. That’s a win in our book.
