2015 BMW 3 Series Saloon diesel engines

Six-cylinder diesel engines.
The BMW TwinPower Turbo diesel engine in the BMW 330d sets standards: its six cylinders provide a remarkable 560 Nm of torque and accelerate the BMW 3 Series Saloon from 0 to 62 mph in a rapid 5.6 seconds. Despite this sporty performance of 258 hp (190 kW), consumption is 57.6 mpg with 129 g/km CO2.

The high efficiency is a result of an innovative combination of the latest generation of common rail direct injection with a turbocharger with variable turbine geometry. The engine is constructed in an intelligent lightweight fashion and has a maintenance-free particle filter fitted as standard. In addition the 330d is also now available with xDrive, BMW's intelligent four-wheel drive system.

Four-cylinder diesel engines.
The BMW 3 Series Saloon uses the established 2.0-litre BMW TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder diesel, which offers an undiminished high output but now performs even more cost-efficiently and with fewer emissions. The engine with aluminium composite crankcase combines the latest generation of common rail direct injection with a turbocharger, including variable turbine geometry.

Equipped with the new eight-speed automatic transmission, the BMW 325d has an output of 160 kW (218 hp) and achieves an impressive 57.6 mpg (combined) and a CO2 value of 129 g/km. When it comes to fuel economy the BMW 320d EfficientDynamics truly is the ultimate driving machine. It delivers 120 kW (163 hp) and, thanks to the interplay of intelligent BMW EfficientDynamics technologies, achieves a CO2 emissions value of 109 g/km and consumption figures of 68.9 mpg (combined).

Also combining dynamic performance figures with commendable efficiency are the BMW 320d, 318d and BMW 316d. The BMW 320d is also available with xDrive, BMW's intelligent four-wheel drive system.
