Dynamic driving refinement: Ever since the first small car, engineers have been trying to achieve the ‘big car ride’. The new Opel Corsa is proof that it can be done. Outstanding handling and comfort is the result of totally revised and refined suspension, including th following modifications:
- Reinforced subframe
- Lowered center of gravity
- Modified damper and spring rates
Positive steering feel; Both hard- and software of the steering system are optimized for increased precision, improved on center response, and reduced driver workload, resulting in more comfort and safety.
City Mode: Just flip the switch and enjoy a perfect ride in the city. To reduce steering effort at low speeds, power assistance to the steering is increased in City Mode, which can be activated via a switch on the dashboard and is standard on all new Opel Corsa's.
The new 3-cylinder 1.0 Turbo ECOTEC Direct Injection engine delivers a silky smooth 85 kW (115 hp) with 170 Nm of torque. Its economy is as impressive as its performance and smooth running characteristics. To match this advance a new manual 6-speed manual transmission is ready to let you fully optimize your driving pleasure.
But you can also choose the ecoFLEX version of the 1.0 Turbo ECOTEC Direct Injection with 66 kW (90 hp) with even lower consumption and emissions, or the 1.2 and 1.4 liter 4-cylinder petrol engines.
The Start/Stop system is standard with all diesel and most petrol engines. When activated, it ensures considerable savings and reduced emissions in city traffic, waiting at a red light or in traffic jams. The system automatically stops the engine when the car comes to a standstill. The engine promptly restarts as soon as the clutch is engaged.
