Rolls Royce Sweptail is the World's most expensive new car
Rolls Royce Sweptail: Rolls-Royce has unveiled the new Sweptail, a bespoke model designed for an undisclosed customer, at the Concorso d’Eleganza at Villa d’Este in Italy.
The new Rolls-Royce Sweptail is a two-seater luxury coupe and is worth Rs 84 crore ($12.8 million). It is inspired by the coach-built Rolls-Royce models of the 1920 and 1930s as well as luxury yachts.
It took four years for Rolls-Royce to build the Sweptail, which is powered by a 6.75-litre V12 engine.
The Sweptail shares its design cues with the Rolls-Royce Pantheon such as the front profile, wherein the centre grille is made of brushed aluminium with mirror finish.
One of the main characteristics of the luxury coupe is a large panoramic glass roof, one of the largest glass on any car and allows for more natural light, adding to the airy feel of the luxurious cabin. The Sweptail has soft creases on the sides, windscreen and the roofline that give it an aerodynamic appeal as it flows backwards and tapers towards the rear mounted engine.
The rear of the car has taken inspiration from racing yachts. The overall rear design of the coupe gives an impression of a ‘bullet-tip’ that consist of centre brake light and sweeping lower bumper.
Similar to the exterior, the interior too is modern and opulent. The interior of the Sweptail features polished Macassar Ebony and open-pore Paldao.
The car manufacturer has also added dark and light, Ebony and Paldao, in contrast with Moccasin and Dark Spice leathers on the seats, armrests and dashboard. The cabin features titanium finished clock and other instrument dials.
There are two identical panniers too, which when activated, deploys a bespoke case that can be used to keep a laptop. The cases are made of lightweight carbon fibre, finished in leather that matches the interior of the Sweptail.
Although the identity of the buyer has not yet been disclosed, it's only a matter of time before we get to know the same so stay tuned for the same.
