First Photos Of The All-New Kia Sportage Leaked ahead of Frankfurt debut

 The first official photos showing the all-new Kia Sportage in the metal have surfaced on the web.The photos are a confirmation that Kia’s teaser renderings released earlier this week have nothing to do with the actual car.

While the renderings showed a Sportage with dramatic proportions, the production car has roughly the same shape as its predecessor, with only details making the difference. These include the large “tiger nose” grille, new headlights, LED daytime running lights and LED taillights.

There are no official photos of the interior yet, but we have already seen what it looks like thanks to spy photographers. The Sportage features a dashboard very similar to that used in the latest Sorento, including an 8-inch Infinity infotainment system on the center console and an array of buttons and knobs underneath it.

In terms of engine choices, the new Sportage is expected to offer a similar lineup to the Hyundai Tucson sister model. North America should get a 164hp 2.0-liter and a 175hp 1.6-liter turbo, while Europe is likely to get two petrol units, a 132PS 1.6-liter and a 175PS 1.6-liter turbo, as well as three diesels - the 115PS 1.7-liter, 136PS 2.0-liter and 186PS 2.0-liter.

Expect Kia to release official details and more photos in the coming weeks before the Sportage’s world debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show on September 15.
