Chevrolet Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition |
Painted to match Corvette Racing’s yellow-and-black livery, the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition looks as much as the race car as the DOT probably allows. Tone down the aero (lose the massive splitters and rear wing) and ditch the sponsor stickers, and the C7.R quickly becomes the Z06 C7.R Edition. From there, Chevy adds unique touches such as the black wheels with yellow accents and Corvette racing logos, exposed carbon fiber for the ground effects and the hood, yellow brake calipers and special C7.R Edition body graphics.
That bright yellow paint job seen above is actually a new hue for 2016 (Corvette Racing Yellow Tricoat), but if yellow isn’t quite your thing, the Z06 C7.R Edition is available in black, too. And to keep the limited-edition car protected from weather and, more likely, dust, the Z06 C7.R Edition also comes with a matching car cover.
There are no changes made to the drivetrain of the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition, which leaves the supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V-8 with its 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. To maximize its on-track performance, though, the Z06 C7.R Edition does come standard with the Z06’s optional Z07 Performance Package that adds Brembo carbon ceramic brakes and Michelin PS Cup 2 tires.
