In 1955, a group of Washington, D.C.-area enthusiasts, enamored with a newfangled type of sports car dribbling in from Stuttgart, established the Porsche Club of America. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the club, which now boasts 141 regional chapters and boundless enthusiasm for crest-wearing cars. Porsche itself is getting in on the celebration with the GTS Club Coupe, a special-edition 911 Carrera GTS built to commemorate the PCA’s diamond jubilee. But don’t plan on just sauntering down to the Porsche dealer and buying one for yourself.

 The GTS Club Coupe builds on the sporting foundation of the 911 Carrera GTS, which pairs the wider body of the Carrera 4 with the rear-drive setup and naturally aspirated engine of the Carrera S. The bespoke “Club Blau” color is unique to this edition, as are visual flairs including a deeper front fascia, ducktail rear spoiler, and 20-inch Sport Classic five-spoke wheels. Inside, carbon-fiber details and two-tone red-and-blue stitching set the Club Coupe apart, and fistfuls of commemorative badging adorn every surface that could be so bedazzled.

The Club Coupe’s boxer six is warmed up to a stout 430 horses, which Porsche says will provide for zero to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds in PDK dual-clutch seven-speed trim. That automatic gearbox is, of course, optional—PCA members, like the rest of us, have a strong inclination to do their own shifting, thanks very much.

And PCA members are the only folks who’ll get to choose between two- and three-pedal Club Coupes: Porsche is building only 60 examples of the commemorative car, with 59 of them going up for sale to PCA members. The very first car will be raffled off to one lucky PCA member.


The rest of the limited-edition Club Coupes will come wearing a sticker price edging past $137,000. It’s a lofty entry fee to get into the 60-member Porsche Club of America Club Coupe club.
