 The redesigned 2016 Audi TT Roadster and Audi TTS Roadster will arrive at dealerships in mid-2015, according to Audi of America.

The 2016 Audi TT Roadster makes its debut next week at the 2014 Paris Auto Show, alongside its high-performance companion, the TTS Roadster.

"Pricing has not been announced," wrote Joe Jacuzzi, an Audi of America spokesman, in response to a query from Edmunds.

The current 2015 TT Roadster starts at $44,245, including an $895 destination charge, while the 2015 TTS Roadster is priced from $52,595, including destination.

Competitors include the BMW Z4 and the Porsche Boxster.

The third-generation TT Roadster is built on the same basic architecture as the Volkswagen Golf. The new TT is shorter and slightly narrower than its predecessor, but the wheelbase has been stretched 1.5 inches.

The design changes on the two-seater are significant, while evolutionary. A power fabric top is standard. Colors include black, titanium gray and "jive."

At launch, the TT Roadster will be offered with a choice of two four-cylinder engines: A 2.0 TDI turbodiesel that makes 184 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque and a 2.0 TFSI turbo gasoline unit rated at 230 hp and 272 lb-ft of torque. In the TTS Roadster, the gasoline engine delivers 310 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque, accelerating from zero to 62 mph in 4.9 seconds.

135 kW (184 hp) and 380 Nm (280.3 lb‑ft) of torque, the 2.0 TDI ultra is already a sporty engine. As with all engines in the new TT family, the two‑liter diesel engine meets the Euro 6 standard. It averages just 4.3 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers (54.7 US mpg), which equates to CO2 emissions of 114 grams of CO2 emissions per kilometer (183.5 g/mi) – a new best figure in its segment.

The TT Roadster and TTS Roadster can be equipped with a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed S Tronic dual-clutch automatic with paddle shifters. Permanent all-wheel drive is optional on the TT gasoline variant and standard on the TTS.

The sporting TTS Roadster gets Audi magnetic ride and an S line sports package, as well as standard 18-inch wheels and tires; 20s are optional.

Both models can be ordered with a range of infotainment and driver assistance packages.
