2015 Volkswagen Jetta 1.4 TSI Hybrid 170 hp

In addition to new styling touches at the front and rear of the car, the 2015 Jetta has notable changes throughout. Overall efficiency has been improved by reducing air drag and utilizing new tires that help improve rolling resistance. 

New driver assistance systems are available, such as Blind Spot Detection, frontal collision warning and rear cross-traffic alert. Inside, the Jetta sees an upgraded interior with new materials and an enriched assortment of available equipment. 

The 2015 Jetta continues to offer three four-cylinder gasoline engines (2.0-liter naturally aspirated and 1.8T and 2.0T TSI® Gen 3 turbocharged EA888 engines), a 1.4-liter turbocharged full hybrid version, and a new EA288 2.0-liter turbocharged EA288 TDI Clean Diesel engine. 

Furthermore, the 2015 Jetta has been engineered to meet or exceed all current U.S. safety standards.

Start-stop technology saves fuel by shutting down the engine at a stop or when coasting, while regenerative braking converts kinetic energy to recharge the battery. And in the event of an accident, the Intelligent Crash Response System* (ICRS) automatically shuts off the hybrid battery and turns on warning hazards to keep you safe. Built to perform, the Jetta Turbocharged Hybrid features a 1.4 TSI engine and an electric motor that combine for 170 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. What’s more, in full electric mode, the car can drive with zero emissions as far as 2 km at speeds of up to 70 km/h.

7-speed DSG automatic transmission
A first for hybrids, the Jetta Turbocharged Hybrid achieves ultra-fast and incredibly smooth shifting times by using a 7-speed DSG transmission with Tiptronic® technology. Enhancing performance and fuel economy, Tiptronic® also provides the convenience of an automatic transmission with the joy of a sporty manual.

Hybrid start-stop technology
Start-stop technology saves fuel by shutting down the engine when the vehicle stops and restarting it when it accelerates. When coasting, hybrid start-stop technology shuts off the engine and decides whether or not the electric motor is required. If more power is needed, the engine kicks back in.
