Nissan Frontier Diesel Runner Project Truck

Nissan and Cummins Diesel began a research partnership in 2010, and last year we announced a new full-size Titan that will go into production with a 5.0-liter turbo diesel V8 to be released in 2015. Now, we introduce the mid-size Frontier Diesel Runner project.

Engine
They’ve dropped a 2.8-liter Cummins diesel into a 2014 Frontier Desert Runner. The results: 200 horsepower, more than 350 lb-ft. of torque, and all of it controlled by a new 8-speed automatic transmission.

A transparent acrylic hood shows off an oversized carbon fiber engine cover stamped with the iconic Cummins logo.

Exterior
The custom exterior gets an aggressive new look, with paint in classic red and raw matte silver, contrasting wheels, and a new carbon fiber chin spoiler, mesh grille, and roof rack.
